At the beginning of June exercise instructors across Hamphsire were invited to apply for a bursary to cover the cost of training to teach exercise to Stroke Survivors.  The bursaries are funded by Awards For ALL (BIG Lottery).  We had 17 instructors apply for 8 Bursaries.  

Eight excellent applicants have been selected according to points awarded against stringent selection criteria.  The successful instructors have been offered bursaries to cover the training which runs between October 2014 and January 2015 after which it will be possible to set up specific exercise classes for Stroke Survivors across Hampshire.

Positive Strokes is a project which will provide training for 8 Community Exercise Teachers across Hampshire to teach an appropriate programme of Exercise for Stroke survivors.

Exercise teachers must have achieved a minimum level of training to attend the course and also complete a Bursary application in which they will need to commit to the provision of community based exercise programmes for Stroke Survivors.
