We did it!

On Tuesday 15 July Chris (my son) and I, and 58 other cyclists, left Hayling to join the Hayling Cycle ride in France.  We spent 5 days cycling 285 miles (+ the extra miles when we got lost!) round the beautiful French countryside. 

We Did It!

We joined the other 160 riders at Chateau Gontier and cycled with them to Angers, Tours, Alencon, Caen and finally on Sunday 20 July to Ouistreham where we caught the Fast Cat back to Portsmouth. 

Once back in Portsmouth we cycled en mass, with a police escort, to Hayling Island where a welcome home reception awaited us.

 

Chris and I are pleased to announce that we raised over £1000 between us and 80% will go to the Rowans Hospice and 20% to Hayling Charities.  We don’t know yet what the actual final sum will be.
