HAMPSFIT is a programme which is aimed at AMPUTEES to improve their quality of life and independence through exercise.
The exercise sessions are taught by Floyd Foster and are focused on strength and balance. They are aimed at making everyday activities, including walking and standing, easier, and to help people become more independent.
It doesn't matter what age, shape or size you are, all amputees of all abilities are welcome.
It is also an opportunity for amputees to be able to get out and about and socialise, and to improve general fitness with like minded and similarly challenged people.
The project is organised by the BodyFocus Support Group in collaboration with Waterlooville Area Community Association and the Disablement Services Centre at St Mary’s Hospital, Portsmouth. The initial start-up cost has been funded by the BIG Lottery Fund.
